How’s this for a little inspiration as we prepare to kick off the new year? The entire Morris family will be participating in the 2022 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend!

Inspired by their parents’ and grandparents’ shared love for running, Landon, Miles, and Alex Morris are ready for their turn to toe the streets of Pittsburgh and listen to the roaring cheers of the crowd encouraging them along the course. Gina Morris, mother of the three boys, grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. From a young age, running had always been a priority for the Morris family. Now, with hundreds of miles and state lines separating them, the family still fits a group run in the schedule when they are together. Gina and her sister, Danielle, still live close together in Connecticut, so the duo has maintained a weekly routine of a long Sunday run followed by coffee.

Gina and her husband, Matt, have passed down the love and joy running brings to their own children. The Morris kids have grown up attending races to cheer on their mom and dad. Their oldest son, Landon, enjoys running with his family anytime the grandparents visit. Most recently, the boys participated in a local Turkey Trot which fuels their excitement to run in their first-ever Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon next spring.

The DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events is quite the family affair for the Morris family. Landon, Miles, and Alex will kick off the festivities Saturday at the Kids Marathon, and Gina, Matt, her sister, brother, and father will band together to run the FedEx Pittsburgh Marathon Relay on Sunday. As tens of thousands runners reunite with a live start line in downtown Pittsburgh in 2022, the Morris family will be having a reunion of their own.
