Parking
Where you park is really up to you! There are several garages and lots around the downtown area - try using the ParkPGH app for real-time capacity for Pittsburgh's garages.
Remember that some roads will already be closed (review the Getting Around Town info), so you might need to navigate around those closures to get to your selected parking location.
For Saturday's events, most participants park on the North Shore. West General Street Garage opens at 5:30 a.m. while Gold Lots 1 & 2 open at 6:00 a.m.
For Sunday's events, we've heard of people parking EVERYWHERE. Some park on the North Shore and walk across one of the bridges; some park in Station Square and cross the Smithfield St. Bridge; and others prefer to park as close to the start line as possible.
On Sunday, Gold Lots 1 & 2, Red Lots as well as West General Robinson Street Garage open at 4:00 a.m.
*Please note: ALCO Lots are cashless.

- Regional Transit Customer Service is available weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling 412.442.2000 and at @pghtransitcare. Live chat is available at rideprt.org weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Getting into and out of the city during the event
The DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon course creates a loop through the City of Pittsburgh that can limit ways to get into the city during the race. This document provides routes for getting to the inside the course coming from the Parkway North (I-279), as well as from Route 65 Inbound and 376 Inbound. It also provides routes for getting outside the course if you're on the inside via 279 Northbound, 28 Northbound, 376 Westbound, and 65 Northbound.
Review the maps and directions.
Downtown on Sunday, May 5
Several streets in Downtown Pittsburgh will be completely closed to traffic. If you are going to be in these areas and may need to leave during the event, please consider parking your car outside of the area.
