2013 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Hall of Fame Class
The DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon and the Hall of Fame Committee inducted Jennifer Colgrove-Martin, Larry Kuzmanko, Steve Molnar and Paul Zimmerman as its fifth class of inductees to the Pittsburgh Marathon Hall of Fame.
This class was inducted during the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events.
Jennifer Colgrove-Martin
Jennifer is a 4-time Olympic Trials Qualifier (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996). She also represented the United States at several world championships in distances ranging from 15K to a marathon (1989, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995). She has two major marathon titles under her belt, Cal International in 1994 and Columbus in 1995. Her personal bests include 32:10 for the 10K, 1:13:56 for the half marathon and 2:36:13 for the marathon. Jennifer, from Elma, NY, graduated Allegheny College in 1983 and currently resides in Erie, PA.
Larry Kuzmanko
Larry is credited as the founder of the Pittsburgh Marathon in 1985. He served as race director from 1985-1992. He has played a key role in bringing the 1988 Women’s Olympic Trials and 2000 Men’s Olympic Trials to Pittsburgh. He has since remained active on the board of directors and helped bring back the marathon in 2009. Larry attended Duquesne University and West Virginia University and currently resides in Highland Park.
Steve Molnar
Steve is a 3-time champion of the Johnstown Marathon, winning in 1975, 1980 and 1985. He also owns the course record in 2:22:54. He turned in several sub-2:20 performances from 1980-1982 in major marathons, including New York, Jersey Shore and Grandma’s. Steve, a resident of Johnstown and graduate of Saint Francis College, was a member of the Elite Allegheny/Nike Racing Team from 1980 to 1992.
Paul Zimmerman
Paul is a 3-time Olympic Trials Qualifier (1992, 1996, 2000). He was the winner of the 1991 Arizona Marathon and 1995 Cal International Marathon. In the 1997 National Marathon Championships, he placed 5th with a time of 2:17:51. Paul, a native of Ligonier Valley and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh- Johnstown, is a highly acclaimed masters runner. In 2011 he was honored as one of Runner’s World top masters runner and won the Masters Division of the Steelers’ 5K in 2012.
