2025 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend Set to Be Largest Yet, Welcoming Over 45,000 Participants

 PITTSBURGH, PA  – The 2025 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events is poised to be the biggest in the race’s history, with more than 45,000 runners expected to cross the finish line on May 3-4. Participants from all 50 states and 19 countries will take to the streets of Pittsburgh for a weekend of movement, motivation, and memorable moments—culminating in the unforgettable achievement of crossing the finish line and earning their medal.

The excitement kicks off on Friday, May 2 with the Pittsburgh Live Well Expo presented by GNC, the largest health and fitness expo in Western Pennsylvania. Held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the two-day expo is free and open to the public, with more than 85,000 attendees expected. The expo will showcase the latest innovations in health, wellness, and endurance sports with booths from event partners, top brands, and game-changing products. New in 2025, attendees can enjoy immersive photo opportunities and interactive activations from key partners like DICK'S Sporting Goods, GNC, UPMC Health Plan, Brooks Running, Chick-fil A Pittsburgh, OOFOS, and 4RUN2—all designed to inspire and fuel their fitness journey.

Saturday, May 3, is “Family Day” with events for all ages and abilities, including:

  • UPMC Health Plan / UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K
  • U.S. Steel Pittsburgh Champions Mile
  • Sheetz Pittsburgh Toddler Trot
  • Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon – the largest youth running event in the country, expecting nearly 10,000 young participants plus their families.
  • Pittsburgh Pet Walk

Sunday, May 4, features a full slate of premier races, including:

  • DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon
  • UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon
  • FedEx Pittsburgh Marathon Relay
  • UPMC Health Plan / KeyBank Pittsburgh BACK Half Marathon
  • GNC Pittsburgh 4-Mile Fitness Challenge

The weekend will also spotlight the incredible efforts of a record 4,000 charity runners, who are expected to raise more than $1.5 million for local and national nonprofit organizations through the Run for a Reason Charity Program presented by KeyBank.
